Terms and Conditions

Your Order

Please check the details of your Estimate and if you have any queries please raise these immediately with the store. All delivery times are estimates given in good faith and are not legally binding. Time is not of the essence of this contract of sale. Fitting appointments are made on your behalf and due to the nature of fitting work exact arrival and completion times cannot be guaranteed. Exact colour and texture matching between separate pieces of carpet, and especially between four meter and five meter rolls, cannot be guaranteed. All carpets and vinyl’s are sold and cut to the nearest 10 cm in length with a minimum order length of 100 cm. All sizes are approximate and within a tolerance of plus or minus 1.25% in accordance with BS3655.

Delivery and fitting

Rooms must be cleared of furniture and old floor coverings before the fitter’s arrival unless arrangements are made with JKS in advance. An additional charge will be made for this work. Failure to clear rooms prior to fitting may result in delays and/or the inability to carry out the work at the appointed time and JKS accept no liability for any such delays. Please tell us and the fitter if your floor is not of standard wood or concrete construction, or if pipes/cables are fitted close to the floor surface. No liability can be accepted unless hazards are brought to the fitter’s attention prior to the fitting. Fitters undertake to carry out their work with reasonable care and skill but even with the greatest care, home décor may be marked or scuffed during the fitting process. New paintwork and wallpaper should be allowed to fully dry and harden before fitting, a minimum of two weeks is recommended. Doors may need to be trimmed to allow clearance. This is not part of the fitting work unless this has been specifically agreed. In the event that the doors do not have sufficient clearance for the carpet the fitters may remove the doors to allow fitting and leave the doors ready for you or your appointed carpenter to carry out the trimming, unless other arrangements are made.

Your Carpet

All carpets regardless of yarn content and quality type may develop light and dark patches caused by pile reversal or uneven pressure on the pile in wear. This characteristic is not detrimental to the wear of the carpet and is not due to any manufacturing fault. Similarly different production batches may vary in shade, therefore exact colour matching cannot be guaranteed if using different widths or different batches. Terms: Payment due within seven days of invoice. In the event of a complaint, contact: Retail Manager @ JKS Floorings Ltd. Please ensure that the carpet received is the one you ordered, the correct colour and size, and that it is inspected for apparent faults by yourself and your fitter before fitting commences. If, on inspection, you have any doubts please contact JKS immediately. However, in all cases genuine complaints will be dealt with in good faith. Carpet is a soft, luxurious product and flattening of the pile will occur as a natural result of use. The sides of the pile appear a slightly different shade in colour to the ends and so any flattening will change the apparent colour of the carpet and this can be patchy when the use of the carpet varies in different areas. Such shading and flattening is not a fault. Areas where foot traffic twists and turns (for example near stairs and in front of seating) can be especially prone to such changes in appearance. All carpets benefit from the installation of a good quality underlay. Re-using existing underlay may result in abnormal flattening of the pile. The samples used by JKS are intended to give a general impression of the colour and pattern of a carpet. When fitted to a larger area some patterns and apparently random blends of yarn can have a striped effect which is inherent in the pattern.

The removal and installation of white goods (fridge, dishwasher, dryer etc) is the responsibility of the client unless other arrangements have been made with ourselves.
